When I woke up this morning, I thought I was dreaming because I heard loud splatters in our roof accompanied by noisy thunders. It was raining so hard! I remember my mornings when I was still in college. I used to wake up in this scenario only to find out that there are no classes in Manila because of the heavy rain that causes flood.
But now that I’m working, those scenarios are now called “wishes”. Even if it’s raining hard, I still need to get up and start my morning routine because I need to leave early to avoid traffic.
Now, I’m thinking. What type of weather do I really like?
If you ask me this question way back when I was still in college, I’d definitely say I love the rainy days. Even now I still the rainy days. I love the cold wind and I love it when I’m wearing a jacket. If you ask me my favorite attire, it will always include a jacket or a cardigan. But, I hate the rainy days if I’m traveling.
The first time I went to Puerto Galera was last October 2006 (tama ba?). I was with Doms. Part of the trip was a boat ride and dear me! It was raining so hard the boat ride was so scary! Also, last February 2008 during our 1st Bora trip, me, Doms and my cousins experienced heavy rains when we were riding again, a boat. I didn’t like the feeling at all. I felt like vomiting and my head was spinning. And a lot of things were inside my head. Like: Where will I jump just in case the boat sinks? Where the hell are the life jackets? Oh no, my bag is getting soaked already!. My worst experience during a heavy rain was during my 2nd trip to Bora. We were about to land in Manila already but the pilot can’t see where we were supposed to land because of the heavy rain. This scared me to the bones! The plane kept on entering wind packets that made the plane rock. It was really scary, believe me. I hope the rain stops already! My parents are leaving for Davao on Friday.
Also, I hate rainy days when I’m commuting. Aside from the floods, I hate it when my feet gets wet with mud or street flood. Golly! Pag-natatalsikan ng tubig, nakakainis!
So, which one wins, the “I like” or the “I hate” the rainy days experience?
