13 Weeks and 3 Days

We’re now 13 weeks and my iPhone app was kinda implying that the coming weeks will be better than my past weeks.

I really hope so! My first 3 months was a mess. I hated any food that I cooked and I always curse our neighbor for cooking onions in the morning! Doms and I always eat out for my firt three months of pregnancy and it was not easy in the budget.

Our Pinas vacation landed on my 11th week so I cannot stand the smell of Chicken Joy and garlic rice! I used to love these food and now I hated them.

Anyway, we went to the doctor last week and look how Baby Pork looks like!

My defining moment started when I cooked Sinigang na Hipon for dinner last week. I paired it up with the Fatless Tocino that we bought from Pinas and I loved it! It was actually the first time in 3 months that I loved our dinner and what I cooked.

The next few days were a breeze because I wasn’t that picky with food anymore. My energy in cooking our dinner also went back so I brought home cooked meals to work as well.

Everything went well until last night.

I had a headache when I woke so I went back to sleep. When I woke up, the headache was gone so I went to the doctor for check up and MC. I ate IKEA Chocolate Mousse for lunch and that started the stomach ache. I hated it! It was a full force stomache that made me worry.

Luckily, after drinking lots of water and going to the toilet, I flushed the Stomach Bug away.

This morning when I woke up, I’m still a little fazed at what happened the previous day. But I had to go to work. So, I did.

More Freebies!

I hate that I’m doing this. Posting my blog secretly and locking the posts that I don’t want to show yet. Well, at least by Sunday we can tell everyone about our bundle of joy already.

So, the other day, I got a big mail from Dumex Singapore. One of my colleagues told me to register to the Dumex and Abbott sites so that I can get freebies and other informational guide regarding my pregnancy. So I did register.

My first gift package from Abbott was mentioned in my previous blog post and I was very happy for my second gift package from Dumex.

I got another pack of Dumex Mom Milk, Head Gear, Baby Bib, and Palmer’s Products.

Oh and I forgot about the infant Drypers! Haha! Doms was playing with the Drypers pack and he was putting it in my belly telling BabyPork “This is for you, this is for you!”

The Palmer’s products were very useful because I got dry skin now. We’re so excited to share the news to everybody already!

Of course we’re excited to welcome Baby Pork already. I can’t wait to know if he’s a boy or if she’s a girl.

So What I’ve Been Up to Lately

Well, I really can’t explain well what I’ve been up to lately. The other day, Doms and I went to Thomson Women’s Clinic for my “real” 2nd pre-natal check-up. I was nervous and excited at the same time. The doctor said that we should be hearing our baby’s heartbeat for this week.

But because I’m praning of what some of my N@Wie friends and some office mates, I was terrified! Good thing my Doms was with me.

The doctor didn’t use transvaginal ultrasound this time. She used the actual ultrasound thingy. She first placed the gel like substance in my tummy then the ultrasound of our baby appeared.

Our Baby Pork at 8 Weeks and 4 Days

It was so different from the previous ultrasound! Our baby kinda have a shape already. I was laughing because I can’t believe what I’m seeing. Truly, God is powerful!

Then, Dr. Wendy asked us to look at the clicking thing on our baby and she said it was the heart and it was beating. Doms saw it right away. Me, I had a hard time seeing it. Dr. Wendy turned-on the microphone of the ultrasound and we heard it! Our baby’s heart beat. It was fast and the first thing on my mind was to record it. Haha! It was the greatest feeling in the world! Knowing that someone, our baby, is growing inside me! It brought tears to my eyes.

The doctor congratulated us and gave us more instructions on how to take care of the baby. She gave me a bottle of prenatal vitamins and she handed me lots of “mommy milk” packs for me to try.

It was a great appointment with the doctor! My due date was moved to 21 October 2012. I can’t wait for my next check-up during our Pinas vacation! I read that our baby is growing fast at this time and I want to see him or her always.

The Greatest News

I’ve been experiencing mild cramping in my abdomen days before our Bali Trip. Naturally, I just thought this was a sign of my upcoming monthly visitor. I even told Doms that I might have my period while we are in Bali because all my pre-menstrual signs are present.

A day after my expected period date, I still didn’t have my period. I usually don’t worry about this because I usually get delayed. But something inside me is telling me to buy a pregnancy test kit. I still shoved that idea aside.

Two days went by and I still don’t have my period. I was starting to research on what could cause the 2-day delay. Some website say stress, some say eating patterns etc. but I was not convinced with any of it.

Then I stumbled upon this website:

http://pregnancy.about.com/od/amipregnant/a/strangepgsympto.htm

If there was one thing that made me convinced to buy a test kit, this was it! I had all the 5 Strange Signs of Pregnancy and I became nervous.

The morning of our Bali Trip, I woke up early to fix some things for our trip and to test my urine with the PTK that I bought the day before. I wanted to test before our trip because I know that I will be eating a lot during our trip and I will be walking because of the tours. I just wanted to make sure if those activities were safe for me.

I followed the PTK instructions then low and behold, two clear lines appeared signifying that I am indeed pregnant!

I gave out a loud laugh. I woke up Doms and showed him the PTK with 2 lines and he said, “Anong ibig sabihin nyan?”. I told him, “buntis ako!!!”. And we both laughed and even if our baby is just a clot of blood at that time, he kissed my tummy and said I love you to him/her.

What a great way to celebrate our good news by relaxing and going to Bali!

Bali Trip: Day 1

We decided to go to Bali to celebrate our 1st Year Wedding Anniversary as well as Valentine’s Day. So, I searched for travel packages and other travel agencies for the right package for us.

I chanced upon Expedia.com.sg and it gave me rates that are very reasonable and right for our budget. I booked a two-way Air Asia flight for Doms and I and a 3 night stay at Aston Kuta Hotel and Residences with buffet breakfast.

Our flight was scheduled to leave at 9:20 AM (16 Feb 2012). As always, we were early so we decided to eat breakfast first. Boarding time came and to my surprise, more than half of the passengers in the plane were blondes either from Australia or UK. Bali is really the place to be if you want to see ang-mho’s!

Ngurah Rai International Airport

Our 2 hours and 30 minutes flight was so fast I didn’t notice it. When we arrived Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali, the first thing that I saw was the ancient pillars to the entrance of the airport.

After immigration, we met with or dear driver Dewa. Drop me a comment here if you like the contact number of Dewa. He drove us to our hotel in Aston Kuta. It was very near the airport so it was just OK.

We checked in already as soon as we arrive the hotel but we were not allowed to go to our room untile 2:00 pm. So we ate our late lunch first.

Our Aston Kuta Hotel

Doms ordered Beef Rendang and I ordered Beef with Pepper Sauce. The Rendang was great and the Beef Pepper rice was to die for!

so after lunch, we went staright to our room to check it out. It was great pool view! The sheets were nice and the room was cold. The toilet has a cute design and we really love it! Photos to follow!

We ate dinner at Poppies. Photos to follow.
