Cloth Diapering (CD) List

Before I forget, I need to note down the possible CD packages and other stuff related to CD that I need to remember before purchasing them.I’ve been researching and reading about it almost everyday and I haven’t written any single note about it.

As of today, I am so convinced that I will be needing mostly pocket diapers for Baby Pork. But, I also want to try One-Sized CDs and pre-folds or fitted with diaper covers.

Pocket Diapers consists of the waterproof outer barrier fabric that is sewn to the second component, an inner moisture wicking fabric that keeps the skin feeling dry. These two fabrics form a pocket for the third component, an absorbent insert, to be placed.

An online store from the Philippines that carry good quality and reasonable prize pocket diapers that I know of is http://www.tickledmoms.com/. They carry brands like Alva, SunBaby and Next9. Pocket Diapers like SunBaby have sizes. So, I need to know which size to buy for Baby Pork to be sure. Alva and Next9 have one size that can fit most babies. I think I’ll buy two of each brand from TickedMoms just to try it first.

*** Aside from TickledMoms, Efren told me about Numa Baby which carries a lot of baby products including Charlie Banana.

Other brands that are One Sized Diapers, which means I can use it from newborn stage up to 2 years old that I will definitely buy are Charlie Banana, Moo Moo Kow and Happy Heiny. Online stores here in SG where I can buy these brands are:

http://www.babyonline.com.sg

http://www.moomookow.com

http://mummyknowsbestshop.com

From the stores listed above, I’d probably buy starter kits or packages so I can try them first.

Charlie Banana Singapore Package

*** I’d probably buy my Charlie Banana package in the Philippines instead of here in SG through http://www.facebook.com/numababyshop.

Happy Heiny Singapore Package

I like Happy Heiny’s because I read somewhere that they recommend this brand for overnight use. I’d probably buy disposable inserts and diaper liners for my Charlie Banana too so I can use it when we go out. Also, I read that diaper liners help protect CDs from poopoo and makes it easier to clean. I can buy those here and here.

Then, aside from these Pocket and One Sized CDs, I will also try Pre-Folds  and Fitted Diapers with Diaper Covers. I know one online store in Manila that sells pre-folds and one store here in Singapore that sells pre-folds, fitted diapers and diapers covers. These stores are:

http://www.theecobabyboutique.com

http://www.bumwear.com

*** I also saw one blog that made interested in Chino Pino cloth diapers. these are like fitted diapers so I would need diaper covers for Chino Pino. SM Department stores carry Chino Pino products.

I think I’ll buy 3 fitted diapers, 1 dozen infant pre-folds, 1 dozen baby pre-folds, and 5 diaper covers. I may add more pre-folds but I think I can buy them in Manila already.

To sum up my CD blog post, I got this video from YouTube about Happy Heiny’s CD.

On a Hunt for a Diaper Bag

I know it’s still early but I’m slowly trying to research on some stuff that I need to have when Baby D comes. Doms and I are first time parents and we really need to be ready, mentally and physically, with the new life that we are bringing in this world.

I’m slowly listing the stuff that we need to purchase here in Singapore for the baby. One of those things will be the Diaper or Nappy Bag.

I’d really love to have a diaper bag that doesn’t look horrible. I’d like a bag that can be worn with what ever I’m wearing, but should also go with the style of our stroller and of course the gender of Baby D.

Here are the bags that I’d really like to have. Of course, all of these accessories will be very dependent on our budget.

Kate Spade made a line of designer diaper bags that ranges from 200 SGD to 800 SGD. I’d be hunting for these types of bag in the coming months and I’d be really hoping that they’re on sale. I like how Kate Spade added a changing mattress in her diaper bag line.

Isoki Diaper Bag from Australia

This is what I really want. Haha. I wish I could find a bag like this here in Singapore. And I wish it’s not that expensive.

Of course the bags above are jut my “dream” bags. If I see a bag that is not designer that looks durable and of course, cheaper, I’d be happy to buy it instead of the bags above.

Fascinated With Cloth Diapers

A lot of Moms will cringe when they see my blog title. Who would want to go back to the time when “lampin” was the only option for Moms? It was messy, yucky and they needed a lot of “paraphernalia” like the puffy rubber mats to avoid wetting the bed and the little silver clamps to  clamp the “lampin” ends together.

Good thing the traditional “lampin” was reinvented to fit the modern day lifestyle of Mums and Babes and is now called Cloth Diapers.

Cloth Diapers are reusable diapers that consists of a water-proof and leak-proof cloth shell or cover and a hemp or bamboo insert. The insert, which is directly in contact with the baby’s bum, can be topped with a diaper liner for easy clean up and to avoid tough stains on the washable inserts.

This is how clothe diapers looks like.

These are the 2 brands of cloth diapers that I want to own when Baby pork comes. They have cute designs and they have a good feedback. All the above cloth diapers, whether what brand it is have shells or outer diapers that are water-proof, leak-proof and washable.

Inside each shell looks like any of these:

Bummis by Bambino Bay Shop Stripped with Pre-Fold Inserts

The photos above show that Moms can use either a washable insert, a disposable insert called a Soaker or a Pre-Fold cloth made of hemp together with the cut shells.

I personally think that i will be using pre-folds for Baby Pork since I like the traditional “lampin” texture. “Lampin” is also readily available in department stores in Manila, so buying it will not be that hard.

I’m really excited to shop for cloth diapers already. I want to try it and find out if I can really stick to cloth diapers. But I also think I will have some spare disposable diapers for Baby Pork because you’ll never know when the pre-folds or washable inserts will dry out, right?

Going Crazy About Nursery Rooms: Idea No. 1

We will definitely “re-arrange” my room in preparation of our coming baby. So, I’ve been searching and searching for ideas on how we can transform my room into a nursery that will fit a crib, a bed, a changing table and of course, all the storage that we need for Baby Oink.

Then I saw these photos:

I love the colors and I love the idea! I like that ll the furniture that I want to be present can be seen in this whimsical nursery.

I need to find someone who can make the same changing table as above, also fold able. I hope Doms agrees to this design. I really like it! But this is just the first nursery room idea that I saw so more to come!

Not Showing, Yet.

I’m on my 14th week of pregnancy and my pregnancy iPhone apps said that my baby is a size of lemon now. It’s kinda exciting because we’re getting nearer and nearer to the day we will finally see our Baby Pork!

The iPhone app also said I should be showing my baby bump a little. I don’t see it yet.

3 Months

When I’m on my way to work, nobody has gotten  up yet and give their seat to me because I’m pregnant. Well, this is a steep order considering that I’m in Singapore.

Anyway, Doms told me that we will have a mini studio shoot at home to celebrate our Baby Pork’s 15 weeks or 3 months and 3 weeks. I’m searching online for some ideas on we can do this shoot. I hope we get great photos!
