Our Lady of Perpetual Help Procession

Last Sunday, I requested Doms that we hear mass in Novena Church. We like this church so much because it’s like hearing mass in Manila. Majority of the people who goes there to hear mass are Filipinos. So, if we want a Pinoy atmosphere, we go there for mass.

Also, Doms and I believe that Novena church has some kind of powers. Doms went to this church when he was looking for a job here in SG. In no time he got a job. When we were having troubles in Doms’ employment pass, we went to Novena church to pray. Just the same it was resolved. When we were having troubles in our Australia visa, I went in this church and prayed. The following week, we got our visas already.

So, since our family is facing a lot of health problems, I wanted to hear mass there.

We didn’t know that there was a procession in honor of the Our Lady or Perpetual Help. The church grounds was literally filled with people!

I was a bit discouraged because I wanted a silent and solemn mass. But what we had was better.

We were given a pamphlet that lists all the prayers and the songs to be done for the whole celebration.

Doms even modeled it out.

Anyway, we were a bit early for the celebration so, I had time to take pictures of the people around me waiting.

When the procession started, I was touched by how the people around me prayed. I didn’t quite expect this type of dedication from a country like Singapore. Everyone was reciting the rosary and everybody was singing.

I have a lot of things to pray for and to thank for and I liked that I attended the procession. It gave me a whole new level of faith in God and his powers. I lifted up to Him the intentions of my family and my dad who is recovering now and of course my Lola who is still in the ICU.

I hope there are other activities like this in Singapore.

Praying for Biba

I’ve been feeling down for the past week because my grandma Biba is in the hospital for more than 2 weeks now. She was supposed to be operated for her hip injury but it turned out that she has heart problems that made things complicated. All of my relatives in Manila are uneasy and they feel stressed out already because of Biba’s condition. I really wish that I can help them to take care of my Lola but all I can do now is pray and hope that everything is OK.

I lit up a candle in our mini altar here at home and prayed for the intention of the recovery of Biba. I am now again praying that everything will be OK and I hope that she can fully recover.
