Movie: Rise of the Guardians, Wreck It Ralph and Hotel Transylvania

I’ve been so into animated films lately. I like animated films because it’s light and not heavy on the heart. I feel good after watching animated films because aside from the colorful way of portraying the characters, they have a lesson to impart and they’re funny.

Here are the recent animated films that I watched and enjoyed recently:

Rise of the Guardians

I was in doubt about this movie. I was not familiar with this movie and I didn’t watch the trailer of this movie. Turned out to be a great movie about Santa, Tooth Fairy, Easter Bunny, Sand Man and Jack Frost.

If I were to let Drake watch a movie, this will be the first movie that I will let him watch. Because I want Drake to have a great childhood so I want to instill in his mind the above mentioned characters so that his childhood will be colorful and full of life and imagination.

I like the way the characters were shown. Santa being a tough guy with tattoos, the tooth fairy being so obsessed with tooth and the Easter Bunny as a jockey Australian.

Hotel Transylvania

This movie was so funny I kept laughing at different parts of the movie. I didn’t like the part when they were in the horror carnival because the cape thingy was not that funny.

Wreck It Ralph

This movie was something I didn’t expect to be nice. The story of the little “glitch” being the Princess at the end was very unexpected. I like the story and the characters too.

The Deal with Real Steel

Last Sunday, Doms and I decided to Real Steel in the cinema. I heard good reviews and news about this movie so I really wanted to watch it.

The intro of the movie was draggingThey really want us to know the background of the story. Towards the end, the movie amazed me.

The plot was simple but the characters made it more interesting. The kid was adorable and other casts were right for their roles.

Real Deal is a must see movie. If you want a movie that will touch you and at the same time leave you hanging in the edge of your, watch it!

Charoterang Sprikitik, Umappear Ka Vakler

Who would have thought that this movie was from Pinas? It’s as if they have their own language, Well, they do!

charoterang sprikitik, umappear ka vakler…

witirsokoley ang udang chiditey..

NOTE: I don’t own this video.

Literally, this movie made my face hurt because I was laughing the whole time. During our short Pinas vacation, amidst the crisis in our family, Doms and I made sure that we watch Zombadings: Patayin sa Shokot si Remington in Trinoma.

So, when we had the chance, we went to Trinoma and watched the movie.

From the start of the movie, I know that I will enjoy it already. The actor playing Remington, (Mart Escudero), was good looking and convincing. The story was funny enough even if the plot was simple, justice to all badings.

All the other actors including Eugene Domingo, Janice De Belen, Roderick Paulate, John Regala made the movie interesting. They all contributed very well to the outcome of the movie. Remington’s friends Kerbie Zamora and Lauren Young were also great in the movie. The kissing scene between Remington and his friend was hilarious and the punchlines were great and straight to the point.

My fave part was when Remington was starting to feel “bading” already. He was cursed to be bading when he grows up when he was kid and he was starting to feel it already. He was reciting the things that he sees in the bathroom then when the bading moments came, bading lingo was coming out of his mouth. The lines and moments of the bading zombies  were fun too! There were some editing disasters  but it was OK.

I recommend this movie if you want to have a good time and just laugh. I wish we can watch the other movies for Cinemalaya as well.

Sharing to everyone the official trailer of Zomabdings 1: Pataying sa Shokot si Remington.

NOTE: I do not own this video.

Capt. America: The First Avenger Review

The hype of the Avengers movie next year is slowing speeding up with the coming of the separate movies of each member of the Avengers. Just this week, the movie of the first avenger, Capt. America was released to cinemas already.

Naturally, Doms and I will make way just to watch these movies because Doms loves these kinds of movies.

After hearing mass yesterday, we went straight to NEX Mall in Serangoon to watch our booked ticket to the movie Capt. America: The First Avenger. I was half expecting the cinema to be crowded with people waiting in line to watch the movie, but I was wrong. The cinema was just normal. Anyway, I got our tickets and I even got some free ref magnet from the cinema. We went to our seats already and I patiently waited for the movie to start.

I really hate snowy movie settings. The start of the movie came in when a certain agency found “something” amidst the snow. I didn’t get what it was in the beginning. I didn’t even get the slightest clue that it was ship that they saw. When they started drilling and went inside was the only time that I found out that it was a ship.

I was kinda expecting this type of opening for movies like this because a lot of things is happening. So, the movie started with the struggles of Steve Rogers.

Chris Evans played it well. From the dorky Steve Rogers to the bulky Capt. America. Johann Schmidt (the dude from Matrix), also was a creepy enough to be a Nazi ally. The mood and the setting of the movie which was dated 1945 was really convincing. But the ships weapons and all the other stuff are not.

OK I know it was explained that Schmidt has found the blue thing that gave him the chance to build modernized submarines and ships but seriously? The producers should have thought of it. They should have made the ships look 1950′s on the outside and the modern in the inside.

Story and tag line was nice. I liked the funny parts. Actor chemistry was all good and the my favorite character was Tommy Lee Jones. And golly, Bucky was really cute!!!

All in all, I will rate this movie 3.5 stars. It was alright. I loved the ending credits and the trailer of the Avengers movie. That made me excited to watch the movie next year.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2

Let me just say that it was a very good decision to watch the last installment of the Harry Potter movie in the big *ss screen of IMAX in Sydney.

Let’s rewind one month ago…

I bought tickets to watch Harry Potter last June 14. This day was more than a month before the actual screening of the movie and yet our seats were on the side already.

The actual screening date came and I was so excited to watch it in IMAX Sydney. People waiting in line were wearing costumes and this made me excited more!

Here are some pictures of the IMAX Theatre in Sydney…

Look how huge the cinema was?!?! Harry Potter and the rest of the cast were so close to my face I can even smell them!!! Joke!!!

Going back to the movie, IT WAS AWESOME!

I loved every part of it! The acting of the characters were exceptionally good and the effects were great! I cannot deny that every member of the cast and crew of this movie gave it there all to make this movie great and memorable.

I will surely miss watching the HP movies. Good thing I have all of the movies downloaded already!
