Celebrating Mother’s Day at Chili’s RWS

Doms and I love to celebrate the tiniest event or milestone in our lives. Naturally, we were bound to do something during Mother’s Day.

We were thinking of eating somewhere in VivoCity because I wanted to check the “baby” stores there. Our first choice was Carnivore All-Meat Buffet. The food was enticing but we didn’t like that much for that night and the price per person was so steep.

So, we decided to eat at Chili’s in Resorts World Sentosa.

Our appetizer of Fried Cheese (10SGD) came in first .It was so good! Then my Ribs and Chicken Rack (35 SGD) came in. This meal was good for sharing but Doms still ordered separately. He ordered Western something burger (23 SGD). It wsa so huge with large strips of bacon and fries. I didn’t try the burger because it looked so filling but sure ate the fries!

Doms didn’t have the problem of finishing his food. He has issues with wasted food.

After our great dinner, we went back to VivoCity to do some baby stuff window shopping. Yup! That’s our new hobby now! Then, we ate dessert at Awfully Chocolate. Now I know the reason why I got a migraine that night!

Anyway, it was a fun-filled night spent bonding with Doms. It was also a great way to celebrate Mother’s Day!

Roasted Char Siew Love

Last Sunday, Doms and I ate in Alexandra Hawker Centre. Doms ordered claypot something rice and I didn’t know what to eat. So, I went around the hawker centre to look for the best hawker stall to buy food.

Then one hawkerstall caught my eye. The queue was so long in this stall and the aroma of roasted meat was all over.

Banana Crumble Muffin

Yehey! I finally did it! I was able to bake my first muffin ever! I was supposed to bake carrot cake with cheese frosting but I decided to start with a simple recipe first. I still don’t have a mixer so making a frosting for the carrot cake will be hard.

Going back to my muffin, hehe. I chose to bake Martha Stewart’s version of Banana Muffins but I added some ingredients from other blogs that I saw online also.

CNY Dinner @ Seafood People

We really love Seafood People! So, for our Chinese New Year Dinner, we decided to eat there. Good thing the location of this great eating place is just a walking distance away from us.

We ordered our favorite Prawn Paste Chicken, Seafood Fried Rice and Seafood Hor Fun.

20120127-094814.jpgAs always, serving the food will take about a 30-minute wait. But it was all worth it! We loved our CNY dinner and we will definitely go back here again.

Our Square Buns waited for us for our dessert.

I can’t remember how many CNY’s Doms and I celebrated here in SG. All I know is that I enjoy CNY here and I’m we’ll experience more in the future.

The Start of the Year of the Dragon

I never really knew that Chinese New Year is a big deal to countries like Singapore. Well, majority of Singapore’s population comprises of people from mainland China. So naturally, Chinese New Year is a big deal to them.

Last Saturday, Doms and I went to Chinatown just to see the food stalls and decorations that they have for the coming year of the dragon. The place was so jam-packed! I had to push among the crowded streets just to see the store that sells white blouses.

I haven’t uploaded my photos from that adventure. I’ll do it tonight.

Anyway, we saw these jars of Chinese goodies in our office pantry after lunch. We were surprised to see the wide variety of cookies and tarts that “they” want us to eat. Good for me I love the pineapple tarts!
