From KL With Love

OK I know I said I will be posting here details about our KL trip. As always, I was not able to continue blogging about trip because I forgot about it.

About, About, About…

I just realized I used the word “about” in my first sentence for 3 times. Shucks!

Anyway, going back to the KL trip. All in all, the trip was OK and I couldn’t have asked for another way to spend my 27th birthday. I want to thank Doms for planning and coordinating the trip.

I’m so excited for our next trip for our honeymoon! (Hints: Wall, Olympics, Nest, Siew Mai)

‘Til our next trip!

DIO: Will You Be Cards for Principal Sponsors

We just created our own acronym…

DIO or “Did-It-Ourselves” was coined while Doms and I were making our Will You Be Cards for our Ninongs and Ninangs.

Well, I must say or DIO project turned out well and good. So how did we do it? Here are the materials that we used.

Disclaimer

Doms and I bought the colored papers and the lace tape in Paper Market, Raffles Mall. I love this store! It houses different kinds of craft materials, papers and accessories. We were there for more than an hour looking and matching papers and laces.

So the cutting that we did was just simple cutting and not the hard-core cutting. Most of our time and energy were spent in debating the right color for the WYB background and the type of font.

We bought 4 pieces of purple 12 x 12 polka-dot board (1.40 sgd each), 7 pieces of pink edged polka-dot board (1.20 sgd each) , 3 pieces of lace tape with different designs (11 sgd per pack) and 20 pieces glossy photo paper (2 sgd per pack).

I love the lace tape that we bought! Doms was the one who decided which lace to get.

Of course our DIO project wouldn’t be possible without the help of Doms’ gears aka “my precious”. Apple iMAC and Canon printer.

The creative inputs all came from Doms. I just added some of my opinions about the WYB cards. Here it is!

Thanks to Graphizar for the caricature!

So after some snipping and snapping and after we’ve added up all the materials together, the finished products looked like this.

Lagot, parang hindi pantay yung ribbon! Hahaha…

So there!

Our DIO Will You Be cards are now ready for distribution and mailing. The experience was really fun! Doms and I enjoyed doing our WYB cards. ‘Til our next DIO project!

Nokia X6 has the X-factor!

I’ve been a Nokia fan ever since I can remember. My hands passed through a lot of Nokia phones and I must say, I never regretted using them.

Nokia has a way of not only making their products attractive and filled with features, they also have a way of connecting and giving what the users wants. They create trends and lifestlyes to each phone that they make.  Oh yeah! That’s the main reason why their tag line is “Nokia: Connecting People”.

Now that the latest “thing” that people are into is Music, Nokia launched Nokia X6.

Nokia X6 is the latest hip-happening phone. With it’s massive 32 GB internal memory, I can have gazillion mucic, videos and photos stored in it. With it’s unlimited download service called Comes With Music, I can be dancing (and singing) the latest songs while in the train on my way to work. Wait, let me scratch that idea, haha. I can also have plenty of room and storage data for my downloaded games and applications. How cool is that? To add more, it has a 5 megapixel camera with built-in Carl Zeiss optics so I can capture images and videos that I can upload here in my blog. And speaking of blog, Nokia X6 has a wide touch-screen surface that will allow me to surf the internet and go mobile blogging instantly. I cans tay connected with my friends because the Nokia X6 home screen displays my emails, facebook contacts, RSS feeds linked directly from my homepage. That’s what I call instant access!

With all of these great features, you might think that this new phone is complicated. That’s where you are wrong. Nokia X6 still inhibits the simplicity and usability of any other Nokia phone created.

So, I don’t need to think twice if I am getting this phone or not. I will definitely get my hands into one of these units. So I can start to sway to the beat of all my favorite songs.

I Was Here

While browsing Tumblr, I saw this image that really made me smile.

Come to think of it, people in all walks of life want to be recognized that he/she has made a mark in this world. What we do not know is “we” make a mark to whether we go. We just don’t see it because we were expecting a different kind of mark or impression.

For example. The other day I met with one of my former colleagues who was in vacation here in Singapore. We were in the same circle of friends at that time so we were updated about each other. I believe I last saw her was way back in 2007. So there were a lot of updatings to do. On the course of our kwentuhans, I said “blah, blah kase may something sa siomai dito sa SG na…” Then, she smiled, “Alamo, sayo ko ata nakuha yung expression na yan “may something”.. Hahaha.. Everytime naririnig ko yun, naalala kita”. I then realized that at least, somebody remembers me becuase of my expression. I was hoping (and expecting) that the memory I will leave stuck in her mind was how great I am with work and how I can accomplish things immediately. But I was wrong, she remembered me because of that expression.

I was expecting something else, but another thing came up.

So you see, one way or another, we leave a mark or an impression to everybody that we meet or work with or live with. Let us be sure that in every aspect of our life, we can leave the right impression to people around us.

Wait parang ang lalim na ng sinabi ko :)

I just loved the image above! Ang cute nung mug!

What a Way to Start My Morning

I usually start my morning like this, as in this process…

  1. Microsoft Outlook (To check if there are pending works to be done, or worse, if there are additional deadlines to add to my ever increasing list of deadlines)
  2. Firefox (Which opens up a Google Search)
  3. New Tab –> (Yahoo Mail) New Tab (Gmail) –> New Tab (Twitter)
  4. I login to my personal email first and check the mails and the occasional FB PMs or whatever.
  5. Then I login to my Gmail account to check if I have an email from my wedding suppliers and to check my Daily God Whispers.
  6. Twitter comes in after all these and I browse through all the entries of the people I follow that interest me.
  7. New Tab (WordPress) –> New Tab (Blogspot)
  8. I check my wordpress dashboard to see how many kind souls viewed my site, intentionally or unintentionally.
  9. I check our wedding website to see if I have pending comments to approve.
  10. Logout Yahoo Mail

Supposedly, I was to login Yahoo Mail again to check my other Yahoo account that I use for Weddings@Work. But then I saw the following news in Yahoo Singapore:

And this…

For the first one, I am not sure how to react to it. OK fine, a filipina maid inherited a huge amount of money from his boss. But still, the “Filipina Maid” phrase was plastered in front of Yahoo Singpaore site. Thanks for being redundant, news guy (or girl) writer. There are still people here in Singapore who equates being a Filipina to domestic helpers or maids and this phrase wasn’t that helpful. Well, I think I have to post a separate blog about this feeling I have now about this topic. Anyway, good for you Ate Maid forr getting that huge amount of money, pa-burger ka naman :)

Now the second news, about the 18 year old (I honestly thought she was 15) Charice. Well, if you ask me, she really shouldn’t have gotten that botox injection. Even for medical purposes or for any reason at all. You’re only 18!!! (She really looks like 15) for crying out loud! What ever face you have now, will 88% change in the coming years of your life. I really feel that Charice is in a hurry to grow-up or mature. Well girl, I wouldn;t do that if I were you. Nagmamadali kang tumanada kaya mabilis kang malalaos. Oh well, it’s her life and she can do whatever she wants to it.I just hope that she makes the right decisions and just enjoy being herself

So there! This was how my morning started. It commenced with the usual things that I do added with a little spice of news that I read. I wonder how my Friday morning will be? All good I hope :)
