Waterfall Staircase, Not Good!

I woke up early this morning only to find out that it was raining hard outside. I planned and thought of what I will wear to work to avoid the hassle. I decided to wear a short dress and my Birks so I my jeans won’t get wet. After my morning shower and ritual, I went back to my room and was shocked to see the it was like night time already. Heavy dark clouds were looming in the skies that gave a feeling of post-sunset clouds. This should have been a hint.

There were no problems and no wet encounters from our condo to Clementi MRT. All was running smoothly and as usual. The disaster started on the walkway going to the office shuttle parking. The walk going there was quite long. I can feel my legs drenched in rain water. I can see people in front of me clasping their umbrellas tightly. I stopped at the side of the HDB in front of the parking. I saw the first bus come but it was really hard for to cross the 5 to 7 step lawn going there. Yes, the rain was that hard.

I waited another 5 minutes for the 2nd bus, this time I saw other colleagues more stressed and confused than I am. We braved the lawn going to the bus but it was a total disaster. Every step that I make going to bus made me scream. Flood water was gushing down on our feet and I can feel splashes. Literally, half of my body was wet!

I hope the rain will stop over the weekend. We have a lot of plans and activities to attend tomorrow and Sunday. We can’t afford to experience this again. I also hope that the rains will stop already. Singapore’s been drenched and flooded and it;s not good for the reputation. Oh well, at least the SG government acts fast.
