Universal Studios Singapore Part 1

Last week, I read the news about the opening of the most awaited theme park here in Singapore.

Universal Studios Singapore will open it’s doors to the public on the first quarter of 2010. It will feature 24 rides and attractions, 18 of which will be making their worldwide premiers in Singapore.

The Universal Studios’ one—day pass on a weekday will cost S$66 for an adult and S$48 for a child, with seniors enjoying a special rate of S$32. The pass will cost S$72, S$52 and S$36 respectively for visits on weekends and public holidays. Not bad for a great theme park entrance right?

The theme park has 7 zones or areas. The first area is Hollywood Boulevard. This area features Pantages Hollywood Theater which will be a venue for future Broadway Musicals. Also in this area are different restos like Mel’s Drive-in which serves delicious burgers, fries, onion rings and milk shakes.

Next zone will be the Madagascar Zone. This area will have a complete replica of the boat where Alex, Marty, Melman and Gloria rode in the movie. This boat is for the “A Crate Adventure” ride. This will also have a kiddie ride called “King Julien’s Beach Party -Go-Round” which is a grand carousel.
The Next zone is the Far Far Away zone. This zone houses the famous Shrek Castle and the “Shrek 4D Adventure” ride. Thiszone also has a resto named “Goldilocks” which serves fried chicken with gravy and fish and chips. Here is a picture of the Shrek Castle.
Zone 4 is the most exciting zone for me. It’s the Lost World zone which has the most rides among the other zones. It has the “WaterWorld” area that will have a show of stunts and thrilling action based on the movie. It also has the “Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure” that is the ride that I will surely Q in.  This zone also has the Discovery Foodcourt where everyone can try different food just in one place.
Stay tuned for my next blog post for the rest of the zones of the soon to open Universal Studios Singapore!

Eating All Out Before My Wedding Diet Starts

I’ve been craving a lot of food found in the Philippines for the past months. I have a mental list of all the food that I will try when I get the chance to go back to the Philippines. Since we are doing our wedding preps, I know we will frequent more for the year  2010. Aside from the occasional Chicken Joy cravings, I also have a lot of other food that I want to eat.

Here are my top 10 “must-eat” food in the Philippines:

1. Shawarma = Sharwarma bought in the “Try Mo Shawarma Ko” store in Lagro is the best for me. I remember the times Doms and I used to go there just to eat Shawarma with cheese. I will ask my brother to buy me one!

2. Krispy Kreme Donuts = Even if Singapore is claiming to be more westernized, I still don’t believe them because there is no single store of Krispy Kreme here. One reason that I can think of because Krispy Kreme is too sweet for the normal donut eater and knowing how health conscious Singaporeans are, they wouldn’t want anything too sweet for their taste. As for me, I am already dreaming of the different flavors I will buy!

3. Pandesal = I have moments in the morning that I kept telling Doms to look for pandesal. I miss it’s fluffiness and the smell of freshly caked pandesal in morning.

4. Espasol = I already asked my dad to buy the espasol brand that I’ve been wanting to eat.

5. Dencio’s Sisig = Ummm, I’ve been craving for that sizzling smell all my life!!!

6. Amber’s Pancit = I dunno how to do it, but I definitely want to get a tast of Ambers!

7. Yellow Cab Pizza = OK, Singapore has a wide variety of pizza stores here. We even have Pizza Hut, but one thing that’s lacking in their food here is TASTE!

8. Taho = Oh yes, nothing beats hot taho with a lot of “arnibal” in the morning!

9. Red Ribbon Chicken Empanada = I’ll buy 20 pcs!

10. Adelina’s Ham = This ham makes my mouth water! I love Adelina’s partnered with bread or rice or just plain!

I Need Sleep, Rest and More of Doms

For the past days, since this Monday to be exact, Doms has been very busy with his work. They have a new glossy magazine to be published this coming 10 December 2009 and all of them are cramming to meet the deadline. With this, Doms arrive home around 11:00 pm and yester day around 1:00 am. Of course, I have a hard time sleeping because I’m waiting for Doms call whether he is on his way home already.

Anyway, I just had to say this:

I don’t know why people are so dramatic about certain things in their life. I don’t want to elaborate more but I feel that lately, people around me are so melo-dramatic about their lives.

Life is so good! There are a lot of things that should be clebrated about life and I don’t know why people are wasting that God given time with hiding themselves into thinking “what if?”

Magulo ata.. Basta, di ko ma-gets kung baket ang simpleng bagay ay dapat gawin, big deal.

Anyway, at least this day is almost halfway done already. When I get home later, I’ll just eat nuggets and I will go straight to bed.
