Swine Flu Pandemic

I never really thought that this flu can get into everyones minds. I thought that this can be resolved and can be avoided in an instant. But no!

My office sent out at least 5 emails about this flu virus. Well, it’s a good thing they are all updating us about this, at least we are aware.

Here are some of the things that I’ve researched about Swine Flu. This was taken from different websites like the Ministry of Health in Singapore and Singapore News.

UPDATE

There currently no cases of Swine flu in Singapore but the country has stepped up a series of precautionary measures to fight the spread of the flu.

According to official data, as of Wednesday, there have been 17 cases in total referred for medical assessment in Singapore, and 14 of them have tested negative for H1N1 viruses, three people are undergoing further tests to see if they are suffering from a common strain of influenza or an unknown strain.

FACTS ABOUT SWINE FLU

This flu is caused by a reassortant swine influenza A (H1N1) virus with gene segments from swine, avian and human strains.

Swine flu’s infectious period is at the start and development of the symptoms.

Even if I feel that this show is rigged, Doms and I still watch this show. Not because we don’t have anything to do but because we admire the voices of the contestants. They really are good singers. It’s also fun to hear how they interpret and sing songs.

As of 10:00am, Matt Giruad was the 5th person to be eliminated in American Idol. I was really thinking of that last night already. His performance was OK but not that OK. I really thought that the bottom 3 will be Matt Giraud, Kris Allen and Allison Iraheta. It turned that our that Allison wasn’t part of the bottom 3 but instead, Adam Lambert.

No offense to Adam Lambert fans and lovers out there, but I really don’t like this contestant. He is very dramatic and he I really feel he is gay. And waht’s with the screaming fits? ARe those necessary? To be honest, he s the reason why sometimes we don’t want to watch this show. Napapa-mura talaga ako sa inis when I see and hear him perform. I can accept anyone to win wag lang sha. It’s a good thing I was able tolet that out my chest.

Cloudy, Rainy, Windy and Lazy

We usually don’t open our room window as well as our curtains because of 2 reasons. One, is we are afraid that if we open the window, we will leave it open when we leave for work or for anywhere and the room will get so dusty and two, we are praning of insects to enter and reside in our room.

This morning, since we don’t open our curtains, we thought everything was usual outside. We did our morning rituals and we still didn’t have a look outside. When Doms and I were about to leave, hinawi niya yung curtain and we saw how dark it was outside!

It was really dark! I wore my jacket in going to work kase praning sa ulan si Doms and since I have clouds and flu already, he wanted me safe.

Here in Singapore, the weather is very, as in, very erratic. It could rain in the morning and after 5 minutes, the sun could shine like nothing happend. It’s all year windy here so tying my hair is an escape from dry hair.

Now since it’s rainy, cloudy and windy, I feel lazy and sleepy.

License to Wed

I am currently watching “License to Wed” in my Ipod. The start of the movie turns out to be OK. Until the part when Rev. Frank gave Sadie and Ben the creepy robotic babies.

Imagine if there was a real “course” like this in real life. Couples have to go through group seminars were they are obliged to fight and recorders are placed in their room for Rev. Frank to listen to and robotic babies are given out so that couples would know how to take care of babies.

For me, the learning experience of couples about each other’s real attitude is if they live together for a while. You would know each others reaction and how they handle simple problems.

I’m not yet done with the movie, but honestly, I don’t like the movie because parang na-ngingielam yung Rev. Frank. Let’s just wait til the ending.
